Figures are based on a twelve month sample of UK van insurance policies arranged through the VanCompare panel, covering 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026. Each figure is the median for that group, chosen so a small number of very high premiums does not distort the picture. These are comparisons between groups rather than tests of one factor in isolation, so groups can differ in more than the factor named. Individual prices depend on individual circumstances and the price you are quoted may differ.

Bottom line
Whatever your age, the details on your quote need to be accurate. Your class of use must match what the van is actually used for, and the same goes for every other fact you declare.
If you are under 25, compare again at every renewal rather than letting a policy roll over, because your age at renewal is one of the details every insurer prices on. The same applies at every age: a price that suited you a few years ago may not be the right one now.
